Terms of Service

hunybadgr is a trade show lead capture tool: it scans conference badges, business cards, and QR codes with your device camera, extracts and enriches contact information, records and transcribes voice memos, and syncs captured leads to third-party CRM systems that you connect.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. A workspace supports up to 10 member accounts. Workspace admins may invite additional members; invited members must generally share the admin’s company email domain. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your workspace.

The Service is offered as a monthly subscription priced per user per month, at the rate displayed at checkout. Subscriptions are billed in advance, renew automatically each month, and are charged to the payment method on file until cancelled. Your subscription quantity reflects the number of member accounts in your workspace; adding or removing members adjusts the next charge, with prorations applied where applicable.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further charges are made. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and no credits are given for partial billing periods. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next billing period after the notice.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

New workspaces receive a free trial that includes the full team (up to 10 members) and up to 3 events, with no credit card required. We may modify or discontinue trial terms for future signups at any time. When the trial limits are reached, continued use of gated features requires a paid subscription.

You own the lead data you capture with the Service. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit that data solely to provide the Service (for example: OCR, AI enrichment, transcription, and delivery to CRMs you connect).

The Service captures personal information about the people whose badges and cards you scan. You are responsible for collecting and using that information lawfully: obtaining any consents required at the events you attend, honoring applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction, complying with event and venue policies, and handling data-subject requests for leads you capture. We process captured lead data on your behalf and on your instructions.

We use trusted subprocessors to operate the Service, including cloud hosting, authentication, payments, email delivery, AI text extraction, and data enrichment providers, plus the CRM providers you choose to connect. A current list is available on request at the contact address below.

Connecting a CRM (such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close, Freshsales, or servis.ai) requires credentials or authorization that you supply, and your use of those systems is governed by their own terms. We store CRM credentials encrypted and use them only to sync leads at your direction. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

You agree not to:

• use the Service to violate any law, including privacy and anti-spam laws;
• scan, collect, or process personal data you have no lawful basis to collect;
• resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a service bureau;
• probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to access other customers’ data;
• reverse engineer the Service except where the law grants that right;
• share one member account among multiple people to avoid per-user fees.

We own the Service, including its software, design, and branding. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal business purposes while your subscription is active. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. OCR, AI enrichment, and transcription are automated and may produce errors; review captured data before relying on it. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that captured leads will sync to every CRM in every configuration.

To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data; and (b) our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply to your payment obligations or either party’s liability that cannot be limited by law.

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your lead data, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law, including privacy laws applicable to the people you scan.

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law, with notice where practicable. After termination, we will make your lead data available for export for 30 days, after which we may delete it.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice (for example by email or in-app) at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in New York have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, and each party consents to their jurisdiction. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
